Join Land Stewards for Fertilizer Regulations Training Event

Please join the Town of Wilmington Land Stewards for the following training event:

“Massachusetts Fertilizer Regulations & Soils-Based Turf Management”
By Jamie Magaldi, PE, MCA
Operations Manager / Tree Warden
Wilmington Department of Public Works

Tuesday April 4, 2017
Wilmington Town Hall, 121 Glen Road, Room 9

In an effort to help reduce phosphorus leaching and improve overall stormwater quality, the state of Massachusetts recently approved new fertilizer regulations (333 CMR 31) which not only affect commercial use, but also residential applications.   DPW Operations Manager Jamie Magaldi will summarize the relatively new regulations that all contractors, landscape professionals, fertilizer retailers, property caretakers, and homeowners should be aware of.  Jamie will discuss how to replace widely accepted nutrient overloading practices with a more tailored, soils based approach that attempts to break “one size fits all” generalizations when planning a lawn management plan your neighbors can be envious of.

Please contact the Town’s Department of Planning & Conservation at 978-658-8238 to RSVP and/or for more information.
