Health & Recovery Unit

Embedded within the Wilmington Public Safety Building, the Health & Recovery Unit (HRU) seeks to support community members on a personal level to provide services, resources, referrals, and treatment to their individualized needs. The HRU is comprised of two civilians, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and a Certified Recovery Coach, who partner for individual, family, and/or group needs around mental health and substance use across the age continuum. Community members can access services outside of police/fire involvement by contacting the Wilmington Police Department (978-658-5071) or by stopping into the station, all involvement is voluntary at the individual's choice and readiness, conversations are confidential (unless acute safety is a concern). If you or a loved one is experiencing a medical emergency or are in a emergent crisis please call 9-1-1 prior, appropriate resources can then co-respond once medically and physically safe.
