The mission of the Engineering Division is to provide quality engineering, land surveying, and GIS services as well as technical support for the Town of Wilmington, its residents, agents, and providers and to establish an atmosphere of courtesy, efficiency, and dedication, while maintaining a professional work environment that will foster, encourage, and nurture personal excellence and growth.

Services:

The Engineering Division is primarily responsible for planning, engineering and construction inspection of the Town's infrastructure including roads, curbing, sidewalks, watermains, sewers, drainage and building appurtenances. The Division provides a wide range of technical assistance including Land Surveying services to various Town of Wilmington's Departments, Committees and Boards. Support is also provided to residents, businesses, contractors, consultants, and realtors.

The Engineering Division stores, maintains and updates public records, maps, and plans in addition to evaluating, designing, permitting and administering public works projects of all kinds. Construction plans and documents are prepared, reviewed, and bid; and construction inspections are performed by staff. The Town's Geographic Information System or "GIS" which is a collection of computer hardware, software, and geographic data for capturing, managing, analyzing, and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information is also managed by this Division.
