The Department of Planning & Conservation seeks comments on draft Inclusionary Zoning By-Law

The by-law requires that multi-family developments of 8 units or more have 15% of the units as restricted affordable units as defined by the MA Department of Housing and Community Development to count toward the Town’s 10% affordable requirement. The draft by-law provides an additional market rate unit for every affordable unit required to offset costs associated with building affordable units. It also allows for affordable units to be built off-site only in exceptional cases.  Additional details are included in the draft, which is posted on the Department of Planning & Conservation page.
