Explore
Owned by the Town of Wilmington, Massachusetts, the Wilmington Town Museum is housed in a beautifully preserved c. 1770 farmhouse. This historic building highlights the exceptional construction practices of the late 18th century. Originally opened as a tavern by Revolutionary War veteran and Town Selectman Col. Joshua Harnden, it served the community from 1794 to 1807.
Visitors can explore permanent exhibitions that showcase the house's transformation across different historical eras, including the Georgian, Federalist, and Victorian periods. The museum also hosts rotating exhibitions in the Special Exhibition Gallery, with additional displays in the adjacent 1893 carriage house, which is open during museum hours (weather permitting).
Our current Special Exhibition, Shaping the Future: A Journey Through WHS History, invites visitors to explore the rich history of Wilmington High School and its impact on the community.

The Museum is open year round on Monday and Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm; or by appointment.
