Planning Board
The responsibilities of the Planning Board include administration of the Subdivision Control Act through review of subdivision plans and “Approval Not Required" plans, as well as Site Plan Review for commercial and industrial development. The Planning Board is the Special Permit Granting Authority for Conservation Subdivisions, multi-family units in the Central Business District, Over-55 housing, lots having less than 10,000 square feet, Chapter 41 Section 81G roadway improvements and signage. The Board reviews and issues Stormwater Management Permits and makes recommendations on cases before the Board of Appeals and on zoning amendments. The Board is also responsible for review and implementation of strategic and comprehensive plans and the Town of Wilmington Master Plan. Planning Board members are appointed by the Town Manager for five-year terms.
