Free Entry to All National Parks for Disabled Vets!
The “Lifetime Access Pass” admits Veterans with a minimum 10% disability and any passengers in their vehicle (non-commercial) at per-vehicle fee areas; and, the pass owner plus three additional adults where per-person fees are charged. In addition to free entry at participating parks, the Access Pass includes discounts on expanded amenity fees; such as camping, swimming, boat launching and guided tours. Apply in person at any participating federal recreation site with documentation proving a permanent disability (VA awards letter, VA ID with service connected annotation, VA summary of benefits, or receipt of Social Security disability income). Or apply by mail to with a $10 processing fee to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) with 1) The Access Pass application form (NPS Form 10-596 2017 version), Proof of residency, and a VA disability award letter, and proof of VA disability. Amtrak offers Veteran, military member discounts - Veterans receive a 10% discount on the lowest available rail fare on most Amtrak trains
Use the Fare Finder at the beginning of your search on www.amtrak.com and select ‘Military Veteran’ for each passenger as appropriate to receive the discount. Military Personnel Save 10% and Get Ahead of the Ticket Line. With valid active-duty United States Armed Forces identification cards, active- duty U.S. military members, their spouses and their dependents are eligible to receive a 10% discount on the lowest available rail fare on most trains, including for travel on the Auto Train. Additionally, Amtrak supports and thanks troops by welcoming uniformed military personnel to the head of the ticket line. *Discount Limitations - Not valid with Saver Fares or weekday Acela trains; does not apply to non- Acela Business class, First class or sleeping accommodation.
