LEGAL NOTICE

Town of Wilmington Seeks Property for Fire Substation

The Town of Wilmington is seeking approximately two acres of property in the desired area:  north and east of Interstate Route 93 to the North Reading line and north of Route 62 along Andover Street to the Andover line and along Ballardvale Street from Route 125 north to approximately 251 Ballardvale Street for building a new Fire Substation. Please see below image for the targeted area of Wilmington's map.

The Town of Wilmington believes that the establishment of a fire substation in north Wilmington would enable the Town to improve response times and service levels in north Wilmington and throughout the community.   The objective is to identify the most favorable location for such a facility on buildable public or private property in the desired area.  This facility would operate in conjunction with fire services provided from the headquarters located at the Public Safety Building on Adelaide Street.  Currently Wilmington’s Fire Department operates exclusively from the Adelaide Street location.

If you own property in the desired area described above, and you are interested in selling, please contact Chief William F. Cavanaugh, III at the Wilmington Fire Station by calling 978-658-3346 or via email at wcavanaugh@wilmingtonma.gov.
