Reminder: Saturday Town Meeting 4/29

Dear residents,

We are reaching out to remind everyone of our upcoming Town Meeting, occurring this Saturday at the Joanne M. Benton High School Auditorium located at 159 Church Street, beginning at 9 AM.

Saturday, the Town Clerk’s office will open the auditorium at 8 am to begin checking in voters. The meeting cannot begin at 9 AM until a 150- person quorum of registered, resident voters has been reached.

This year’s Town Warrant is comprised of 47 articles. Votes will be made to determine the Town’s overall budget, financial appropriations for capital projects, an authorization for land acquisition on Andover Street and funding to renovate the Wilmington Middle School for displaced Wildwood students to name a few of the several subject matters on the Warrant.

The Wilmington Public School District will be providing childcare for ages 3-12 (9am to 2PM) during the meeting. Those needing childcare are required to pre-register before this Thursday’s (4/27) 5PM deadline. We recognize that many residents are new to Town Meeting and others wish to review resources ahead of the meeting. Our Annual Town Meeting website offers a number of resources for this purpose: www.wilmingtonma.gov/town-meeting.

WHS' Choral and Theatre Supports (CATS) Parent Group will also be a fundraising sale. Baked goods, candy, snacks, coffee will be sold along with pizza around lunch.
